We all face adversity. How we deal with our challenges and problems is a significant predictor of our happiness and success.
Don’t quit!
We all have a mountain (hopes, dreams, and aspirations) to climb. In order to climb our organizational and personal mountains, we must clearly define:
1. Where are we going? (Vision)
2. Why are we going there? (Mission)
3. How will we treat people along the way? (Values)
4. How will we measure progress? (Objectives)
5. What paths will we take? (Strategies)
6. Who will do what by when? (Priorities)
Plan for success!
Research shows there are three types of people:
1. Climbers are engaged, they are relentless in their climb (30%)
2. Campers are disengaged, they are retired climbers (55%)
3. Quitters are actively disengaged, they have given up on their dreams, they are bitter and depressed (15%)
Engage your unique strengths to make your best contributions!
Keep your life in balance as you consistently consider the most important areas of your life. As you plan your week, ask yourself “What is the most important contribution I can make in each area this week?”
Keep living a life of balance, meaning, and contribution!
ABWA has a rich history of developing leaders. Get involved in ABWA.
Give and you will receive!
